As EA announces, the multiplayer shooter Star Wars Battlefront 2 will offer a single-player campaign.
The big criticism of the last Star Wars Battlefront (2015) was the lack of a single-player campaign. Critics complained that this made the game feel shallow. EA now agrees.
Now EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, stated that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be released during the Christmas season of 2017 (this could happen in the fall as well). It is expected to be larger than its predecessor. Battlefront 2 will feature more distinct locations and hero characters than the predecessor. And the game will offer a single-player campaign.
Furthermore, Battlefront 2 will include gameplay from multiple eras of Star Wars. Wilson did not specify which eras he was referring to. However, speculation is on content from the two latest films “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One.”
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is being developed by DICE, Criterion, and Motive Studios.
