For Star Trek Online, Season 13 “Escalation” has been announced. It features a new story and the game mode “Maneuvers”, where you play PvE but still compete with other players. A new balancing system is intended to ensure fairness.
The science fiction online role-playing game Star Trek Online already comprises 12 seasons, providing enough story content to produce several seasons of a Star Trek series. However, the storyline of STO is far from over, and Season 13 is ready to continue the story on PC on April 25. Additionally, there will be a new game mode and improved balancing.
STO – More Story!
As with every new season of Star Trek Online, this time there will also be an extensive story introduced through the quest “Sound and Smoke”. The focus of the story is the Lukari, a species recently discovered by the Federation.
To help the Lukari search for their past, you team up with the Lukari captain Kuumaarke. Of course, this all does not happen without conflict. The plundering Tzenkethi interfere and are the main villains of Season 13 “Escalation”.
Star Trek Online – Maneuvers – Together and Against Each Other
Action is also present in the new game mode War Games (Maneuvers). In this mode, you fight alongside four other captains in space against a similarly sized team of players. However, you do not eliminate each other directly but strive to reach PvE objectives before the other team does – thus a PvEvP mode! In War Games, you can earn rewards and even ships.
To ensure that the battles in the War Games and regular PvP remain fair, the developers have introduced a new balancing system. While Perfect World has not disclosed exact details, the new system is designed to ensure that you always face opponents of equal strength and that every choice of starship equipment is a meaningful one.
