In the SF-MMO Star Trek Online, the tenth season has begun. Its focus will be on the war against the Iconians.
For 5 years, the developers of STO have been working towards this moment, proudly announcing: The war against the Iconians is here. There are three new “activities” that players can sign up for via the instance finder. In STO, these activities are officially and somewhat awkwardly called “waiting lists” in German. That’s where the real excitement comes in.
In these 3 activities, players are sent into battle against the Heralds of the Iconians:
- In the Portal to Gre’thor, players fight them in space
- In Brotherhood of the Sword, players battle the Heralds on a planet
- and in the 3rd new activity The Herald Sphere, captains must prevent future invasions from opening doors and dimensional gates
Two episodes are being added, continuing the story arc of STO. Cryptic has secured the original voice actor of Tom Paris at least in English. And all of this is only the beginning, as they announce.
Moreover, with Season 10, the “sector” space of the universe has been completely redesigned, the pilot specialization has been revised, and there are of course a lot of new items to earn.
To properly celebrate the “sector redesign,” which they are very proud of, players who log in now will receive some goodies. Among them is the emote “Shaka, when the walls fell.”
