In Star Trek Online, we are a full-fledged starship captain and have a whole crew of eager subordinates to take on tedious duties. This “Duty Officer” system has been missing on consoles so far, but it is coming soon.
In Star Trek Online, we will soon be able to send so-called duty officers on missions and use them for our own purposes on the very successful console versions. This feature is currently only available for PC players of Perfect World’s Star Trek MMO and is reportedly coming soon for PS4 and Xbox One.

In Star Trek Online, duty officers are generic crew members who assist us in our missions. For example, we can assign them to specific duties, so they provide us with passive bonuses in space or during away missions.
Alternatively, the comrades can also be sent on assignments that they will process in real-time and return with valuable resources depending on their success. So similar to the companion systems in Neverwinter or Star Wars: The Old Republic.
