Sir Patrick Stewart is known to “Star Trek” fans as Captain Picard. In an interview, the now 83-year-old talked about an exciting script for which he might return to his iconic role.
After Captain Picard took on a prominent role in numerous episodes and films in the “Star Trek” universe, the character received its own series in 2020 with Picard.
This ended in February 2023 with the third season and is not expected to continue with a fourth (via Filmstarts),
But soon there might be more, because: The actor of Captain Picard, Sir Patrick Stewart, told in the podcast Happy Sad Confused on January 4, 2024, about an interesting project that has piqued his interest to return aboard the Enterprise.

“I have heard of a script that is currently being written”
What does Stewart say about the planned project? So far, the actor has not revealed any exact details but thinks it is an exciting project that sounds like he could rediscover his iconic role.
The script was specifically written for him as Captain Picard. So far, he has only heard about the script but will soon receive it in the mail.
He is already full of anticipation, as he said: “I have heard of a script that is currently being written in which [I] am supposed to participate [as Picard] – and I have been told that I will receive it in about a week or so. I am so excited because it sounds like the kind of project where the experiments I want to make are essential for this type of material.”

A film would be a natural fit for the project, which could celebrate a kind of farewell to the character after the completed Picard series.
However, Patrick Stewart does not yet reveal in the podcast whether it is indeed a film.
