At Star Citizen Christmas is celebrated with a new alpha version and strong words.
Star Citizen has raised over $102,000,000 through the crowdfunding campaign. Time for the boss, Chris Roberts, to look back and share strong words. He thanks all donors. With this money, one could build a game that can compete with any title from a AAA publisher. And all of this without any suits making decisions about which license to milk. With the additional money, they will not please analysts or shareholders, but gamers.
Star Citizen will be better and bigger than anyone ever thought possible, Roberts said in his letter to the fans.

Along with many thanks to the fans, Roberts also introduced the new alpha version 2.1 with two fresh ships. However, it will remain on the test servers, as they do not want to risk the fun, that players have with 2.0, with a new, possibly unstable update during the “holidays”.
For the future, they plan to release a new update every month, but do not want to commit to individual features that must be finished by a certain time to avoid the risk of blocking themselves.
