Chris Roberts was able to achieve a new milestone for the space MMO Star Citizen through crowdfunding.
The mark of 110 million US dollars has been surpassed. More than 1.3 million gamers are counted among the backers. Thus, Star Citizen is the most successful crowdfunding project. The revenue that the game has already generated even exceeds the budget of The Witcher 3, which developer CD Projekt Red estimated at around 81 million dollars. Development work is also progressing. Based on the currently playable alpha, you can already see where things are headed, even though the MMO is still far from completion.
