In autumn 2019, Stalker Online is set to be released, a new survival MMO inspired by the popular S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series as well as the film of the same name. The upcoming title features an open world, RPG elements, and a crazy setting.
What is Stalker Online? Stalker Online is being developed by the indie studio Mobile Technologies. It takes place in an environment reminiscent of the remnants of the former USSR with abandoned buildings and authentic details such as cars, trains, or household items. Thus, it somewhat resembles the upcoming Chernobylite.
The core elements of the game Stalker Online are the open world, free trade, and interaction with other players. This incorporates some classic features of modern survival games.
However, Stalker Online aims to shine with a role-playing system. You will gain experience and be able to develop your character with skills as well as equip them with various weapons, gear, and even specializations.
Additionally, there is a reputation system for various factions with which you can get along. Base building is also mentioned as a feature. All of this is supposed to work either alone or in a team.
When and where will Stalker Online be released? Stalker Online is set to be released in autumn 2019 for PC on Steam. On the official website, you can already register for a beta.
Survival in the nuclear plague
How does survival work in Stalker Online? As with its spiritual predecessor S.T.A.L.K.E.R., there are “zones” or “the zone” in Stalker Online. “The Zone” refers to the area around the disaster site in Chernobyl, where radiation is particularly high.
In these zones, you can also find the best loot in Stalker Online. You visit them repeatedly in order to progress, but also to survive. Without better gear, NPCs or other players could quickly take you out.

However, dangers also lurk in the zones in the form of anomalies, mutants, or enemies such as apparently irradiated giant spiders, as seen in the trailer.
