Squid Game – Season 2 – Netflix is set to show the continuation of the hit series from South Korea in 2024

In September 2021, the Netflix series Squid Game from South Korea premiered, captivating viewers with its brutal game show. Now, the release period for the continuation is finally known.

Squid Game made headlines upon its release in September 2021. The South Korean drama and thriller series by Hwang Dong-hyuk shockingly tells the story of a group of people participating in deadly games, hoping to take home the prize money of several billion won.

Squid Game was so well-received by viewers that it became the most-watched and thus the most successful series in Netflix’s entire history (via netflixwoche.de).

Now, three years later, it’s finally going to continue: Because this year you can look forward to Season 2.

As Variety reports, there was an announcement from Netflix to the shareholders. In this, the company provided a preview of which series can be expected this year.

It states: “Despite the strikes last year that delayed the launch of some titles, we have a big, bold program ahead for 2024.”

Several series continuations as well as new titles are planned. Alongside Season 2 of Squid Game, this also includes Season 3 of Bridgerton or Season 2 of The Diplomat. The live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender is also coming in 2024.

However, the exact timing for the release of Season 2 of Squid Game is not disclosed in the announcement.

What will Season 2 be about? No official information has been given yet about the plot of Season 2 of Squid Game.

However, the main cast includes main actor Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun (Front Man), and Wi Ha-Jun, who played the police officer. The salesman, portrayed by Gong Yoo, will also return.
