A patch frustrates the fans
What’s up with the patch? The player negatively reviews Ark: Survival Evolved after his many hours of gameplay because the latest patch with the DLC “Ark Aquatica” is causing issues. The DLC, which was supposed to be a thank you for 10 years of Ark, has rendered most of the existing modifications for the survival game unusable.
Modified servers where many players experience the survival game are no longer usable, and the community faces the major challenge of getting everything up and running again due to the patch.

How does the community react? The community’s accusation that the developers did not pay attention to releasing the new DLC with minimal compatibility issues is also reflected in the Steam reviews. There, the game has dropped from 84% of all-time ratings to only 69% of recent ratings (around 5,000 reviews) — a decline of 15%. Overall, the game has received more than 550,000 ratings over the entire period.
The new DLC “Ark Aquatica” receives a rating of “Extremely Negative” from fans and only has 12% positive reviews from around 1,300 reviews. In addition to the severe problems that the DLC causes with mods, users also describe it on Steam as “Empty. Superficial. Boring.”
What are the developers doing? The developers of Ark: Survival Evolved continue to work on the DLC to fix the issues and improve quality. They write on Steam: “Our top priority remains the resolution of a problem with the game engine in the live version of ARK: Survival Evolved[…]”.
Mods are also addressed: “A solution to prevent mods from crashing immediately is still being worked on, and we look forward to releasing an update as soon as possible.”
It remains to be seen whether the developers of Ark: Survival Evolved will manage to restore compatibility with the mods so that their players are happy. Until then, the new DLC and the game will likely continue to be punished with poor ratings.
