The community in Diablo 4 is often not talked about for its sunny disposition. However, players are currently reporting positive experiences in the game on Reddit.
What is the deal with the generosity? A “Diablo 4” player reported on February 18, 2024, on Reddit about a positive experience in the game: He soloed some runs against Duriel to farm the coveted Uber-Uniques. After using up his own materials, he spent a little time in front of the dungeon entrance.
As the user under the name “RobbieLovesMargot” writes, he was invited by one group after another to do runs against Duriel together. His teammates did not want any gold from him and didn’t even require him to use his own materials for summoning the boss.
With some groups, he did more than 20 runs this way, RobbieLovesMargot says. This was a nice change from players who charge for their shared runs.
However, the player admits that his “HotA-Barbar” – one of the strongest builds in Diablo 4 – probably also contributed to others wanting him on their team. Nevertheless, RobbieLovesMargot was very happy about the invitations: “This community surprises me sometimes.”
Players say: This should be the norm
What is being discussed? In the comments, other players report very similar experiences. Reddit user “Shertok” writes: “Of the 600 Duriel runs I’ve done this season, I got about 550 exactly like that. Just standing around at the entrance as an ugly-level-100-Barbar.”
“Straight-Basis-4948” even says: “I get more [invitations] from randoms than from my own clan. Hmmmm…”
Even players who are on the other side of such interactions spoke up:
- Party_Towel_1521: “This should be the norm. In the lunar event, I spawn the Herald maybe 6 times because I want to. I do not expect other players who are randomly present to return the favor. Some do, some don’t, but I will spawn him anyway.”
- tonightinflames: “Honestly, I don’t mind gathering the materials. And if it fits for Duriel runs and I see level 100 players at the door, I invite them to help me. Sometimes they use their materials, so I am always grateful.”
- lostsol0713: “As a predominately solo player, I always invite anyone who is standing in front of a cave without a group. I’m going to waste my mats anyway, I don’t care if the group has just as many or not. As I see it, they are helping me.”
Overall, there seems to be a good balance between players who have an abundance of materials and those who can take down Duriel – those who can’t contribute materials or strength will probably find it harder to find a group.
But even beyond Duriel, players report positive interactions in the game. For example, about teammates who pause during important battles to revive fallen teammates. These are unusually cheerful tones from a community, which is usually known for complaining.
Reddit user magicmulder summarizes: “I have always been satisfied with the interactions in the game. Reddit is full of people who are constantly complaining.”
What has been your experience? Do you like to team up with random people, or are you annoyed by “begging” barbarians? Does your Sorc keep getting left at the entrance? Let us know in the comments.
