What is Spellbreak about? Broadly speaking, Spellbreak is a Battle Royale with magic and explosions and was announced back in October 2018. You play as a Battlemage.
The new trailer tells the story of the Battle Royale and shows new gameplay. Apparently, magic is actually forbidden in the world of Spellbreak. However, you have used it and seem to have been punished for it.
Now you must fight to regain your freedom – and do so against numerous other players until only one remains at the end. During the gamescom 2020, the developers showcased the official launch trailer.

Since March, Spellbreak has been playable in beta on PS4. In a week, players on PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will finally be able to play.

How does Spellbreak play? In Spellbreak, it’s all about the use of magic. Instead of fighting with rifles, pistols, and shotguns, you throw fireballs, freeze the ground, or use the wind as your ally.
Through your magic, you can even fly and attack your opponents from above the battlefield with various magical tricks, such as poison attacks:
The gameplay is designed to make you feel like “the ultimate Battlemage.” Learn and master the elements and use them to ultimately claim victory.
Previously, we had the chance to play a bit of Spellbreak for MeinMMO in the series “Find Your Next Game.” Our authors Jürgen Horn and Noah Struthoff dove into the new Battle Royale and believe: Spellbreak will be a new hidden gem for fans of the genre.
