During E3 2018, Monster Hunter: World and Final Fantasy XIV announced a crossover. Here you will find everything that is known so far about the Behemoth in MHW.
The producers of the two games Monster Hunter: World and Final Fantasy XIV decided years ago to one day create a crossover. Therefore, a Rathalos will soon be soaring through the skies in FFXIV, and in return, MHW will receive a Behemoth.

We have compiled all the facts and speculations about the Behemoth for you.
Big, strong, and authentic
Authentic Behemoth: The producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced at E3 that the developers of MHW paid particular attention to making the Behemoth as authentic as possible to maintain recognition value for Final Fantasy fans.
At the same time, the Behemoth will feel like a real monster from MHW and will be placed in a suitable ecosystem within the game world:
- The horns and tail of the beast will be breakable
- Movements and gameplay will be completely new and distinct from all other monsters in the game
- Behemoth will not be as big as Kulve Taroth, but it definitely belongs to the larger monsters
- The development team has created a special zone for the fight against Behemoth
- The monster will be extremely aggressive in combat
- During the fight against Behemoth, the music from FFXIV will play
Final Fantasy fans can also look forward to other Easter eggs from the FF games alongside the Behemoth itself, such as a Cactuar.

It will be streamed live from the Monster Hunter Festival in Tokyo, and the producer of Final Fantasy XIV, Naoki Yoshida, is invited as a special guest. According to the festival page, the stream begins at 05:00 AM our time.
The rumor mill is churning
Release mid-July? The timing of the first demonstration of the Behemoth in Monster Hunter: World is interestingly chosen. So far, the intervals between new monster releases have been about five to seven weeks.

After Lunastra was implemented as the latest Elder Dragon in Monster Hunter: World on May 30, the period shortly after July 15 would be a good time for the Behemoth’s release.
Directly the next day, July 16, there is a live stream from Naoki Yoshida, the producer of Final Fantasy XIV. During this “Producer Letters” stream, major announcements regarding content updates are usually made.

The timing of the FFXIV stream is also interestingly set:
- It is highly unusual for the stream to occur on a Monday
- Updates in FFXIV always come on Tuesdays
The two events in FFXIV and MHW should begin simultaneously, hence fans are speculating on Reddit whether the crossover might kick off towards the end of July.
A date for the events has not been set yet, and in the official event calendar for Monster Hunter: World the Behemoth quest has not yet appeared.
