There is a special improvement for Ana from Overwatch. She will be buffed in a single game mode.
Since yesterday evening (07.05.2018), there is a new patch for Overwatch on the PTR. This includes a very special change for the healing sharpshooter Ana, which will only be active in a single mode. She will now be able to apply her Nanoboost to herself – but only in the Deathmatch game mode.
Why is Ana being buffed? At the moment, Ana is the only hero who cannot benefit from her ultimate ability in the Free-for-All Deathmatch. Once her ultimate is charged, she cannot use it, because the Nanoboost can only be applied to other heroes. However, as there are no allies in Deathmatch, the ability has no use.
When will the buff come? The changes are already playable on the PTR of Overwatch. Those who wish can already test the “new” Ana there and get an impression of it. Normally, PTRs remain active for one to three weeks before the changes are rolled out to the live version. What else the patch brings, you can find out here:
What does this mean for other heroes? With this change, Blizzard demonstrates that they are willing to adjust the mechanics of individual heroes for specific game modes. Since there are also other characters that can only use some abilities on other players (such as Brigitte’s healing, Zarya’s shield, or Zenyatta’s Harmony orb), there will surely be further discussions about adjustments.
