Baldur’s Gate 3 delights its players time and again with funny moments and the quotes of the NPCs and companions. The source of this humor is mainly suggested by the credits.
Admittedly, the credits of Baldur’s Gate 3 are quite long at over 30 minutes. Nevertheless, people usually let them run through to truly finish the game and not miss any well-hidden scene at the end.
In the meantime, you can check Steam for what game to play next, cook something, or tidy up the apartment. But why you should take these extra 30 minutes to really watch the credits of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been discovered by some users on Reddit.
At this year’s DCP, MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski spoke about the sound design of Baldur’s Gate 3:
What was discovered in the credits? On Reddit, some players shared funny moments from the credits of the role-playing game, specifically from the team’s acknowledgments.
A user shared a screenshot in his post with an acknowledgment circled in red that he wanted to highlight. “This guy is too real,” he writes as a comment.
In this developer’s acknowledgment, it says: “Thank you, Mom, for letting me ignore school and miss sleep to play video games. Thank you, Kellie, for wanting a guy who just wants to play video games, blame the upper one. Thank you, Dad, for disappearing early enough in my life so I could get away with it.”
“I almost died laughing when I read this,” reacts a user to this excerpt.
Under his post, players then celebrate a few more acknowledgments they found in the credits. One user notes that, as far as he can remember, these are the first credits he didn’t want to skip.
“Shout out to the one guy who thanked his all-consuming coffee addiction,” writes a user in his comment. To which another user simply states that sometimes you have to be honest and admit that you owe something to your addiction.
Developer particularly thanked himself
Another developer particularly thanked himself for making the game. Another one wrote: “[Note from the ed.: I thank] Myself for being great,” as another screenshot on Reddit shows. This reveals the personal message of another developer: “Hey Mathias, a bit better than a cow this time, don’t you think?”
In his comment under the embedded post above, one user also notes how many pets are thanked in the credits. And he thinks that his cat could take a cue from that because she doesn’t help with productivity at all.
Did you watch the credits of Baldur’s Gate 3 and find funny acknowledgments? If so, feel free to share them in the comments with us. Besides quite a few funny scenes, there are also some in Baldur’s Gate 3 that even made some developers uncomfortable: Baldur’s Gate 3 is only for adults and really raunchy – the chief says: Even developers were uncomfortable with it
