Pokémon GO is selling the special research “Investigating Illusions” for the Community Day with Abra. We will show you what we know about the research so far and whether buying it is worth it.

What is “Investigating Illusions”? This is a special research that Pokémon GO is currently offering for €0.99 in the in-game shop. So far, however, not much official information is known about the research. It will only be activated on the Community Day with Abra on April 25.

Everything we know about “Investigating Illusions”
This is what has been said about the research so far: There is not much information from the official site so far. So far we know that there are among other items:
- 13,000 Stardust
- One Snorlax
- One Rocket Radar
We still do not know about the individual steps or whether you can even catch a special Pokémon through it.
Are there leaks about the special research? About a month ago, data miners (via reddit) found the text passages that Professor Willow will say to you during the special research. However, keep in mind that these may change again, as Niantic could have made adjustments to make this research easier to play from home.
In the texts, Willow talks a lot about your buddy Pokémon. So be prepared to interact with it during the special research.
Moreover, Willow concludes by saying that happy trainers may be able to catch a shiny Abra. This suggests that you might be able to catch several Abra during the special research. Perhaps there is even a Shiny Abra with good IVs among them.
Is the special research ultimately worth it? If you calculate only with the guaranteed Snorlax and the Rocket Radar, you come to 300 coins, which is approximately worth 3 euros. However, you get it here for only one euro. Additionally, you also get guaranteed 13,000 Stardust.
If you actually get a shiny from the research in the end, then the research is even more worthwhile because you have good chances of a shiny with strong IVs. The rewards from special research have a minimum of a 2-star rating.
This way, there is even more Stardust: 13,000 Stardust is the minimum from the special research. If you activate a Star Piece, you even get 1.5x as much dust – so a total of 19,500 Stardust.
So if you buy the research, make sure to have a Star Piece active when collecting rewards. It is generally worth it, as you get triple catch Stardust.
