With Space Marine 2, a new shooter in the Warhammer universe is coming, which might not only be interesting for Warhammer fans.
What kind of game is this? Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is an upcoming third-person shooter for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, set in the grim Warhammer universe. It will be the successor to the first installment, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, released in 2011.

Space Marines 2 will include a cooperative campaign, a 6v6 multiplayer mode, and the PvE mode “Operations”.
Co-op against Aliens
What does the new trailer show? On May 23, a new trailer for Space Marines 2 was released, which is interesting for both Warhammer fans and franchise newcomers. The title looks like an intriguing co-op shooter – even if you have not been a fan of the franchise before.
The trailer gives us new insights into the Operations mode, which can be played cooperatively with up to three players. We see a group of Space Marines fighting together against alien hordes.
Following that, Space Marines 2 shows us some gameplay of the six classes available in the game. Besides shooter action, we see how Tyranids are kept in check with a kick to the face, with a hammer, or with a sword. We also catch a glimpse of the various ways to customize the appearance of your Space Marine.
Overall, Space Marines 2 appears in the trailer like a shooter where you can have fun with your friends and take down aliens together. The recipe has already worked well with Helldivers 2.

Do Space Marines 2 and Helldivers 2 have similarities? Yes, Helldivers 2 is characterized by allowing you to casually enjoy shooter action with your friends – without competitive thoughts or the pressure to always do your best. You start a mission and shoot bugs or robots down.
Space Marines 2 conveys a similar feeling in the new trailer. We see three Space Marines fighting through aliens with different weapons. It feels chaotic and brutal – just like Helldivers.
Fighting alien hordes is certainly not a concept introduced by Helldivers 2. However, the co-op shooter from Arrowhead has implemented it really well. If Space Marines 2 offers a similar gaming experience, we can look forward to an interesting shooter.
