In Pokémon GO trainers will soon be able to submit suggestions for where a PokéStop should be created. This feature is now being tested.
What is new? The developers of Pokémon GO are soon testing a new feature that allows trainers to submit PokéStop suggestions for the game.
These suggestions will then be reviewed and possibly turned into important locations in Pokémon GO. However, this test is initially only available to trainers in Brazil and South Korea.
Suggesting PokéStops in Pokémon GO – Beta Tests
Recently, Niantic announced that they are actively working on the feature for stop suggestions. They are even at the point where the first tests are starting now.
Where is it being tested? Initially, testing is only taking place in Brazil and South Korea.
When will the tests be expanded? It is still unknown when this test will start in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
What are the requirements? Initially, only trainers who have already reached the maximum level (Level 40) can submit suggestions for PokéStops. Child accounts are completely excluded from this feature.
How to submit suggestions for stops in Pokémon GO?
To suggest a special location as a PokéStop, you must
- take and send a photo of this interesting location
- write a description of the respective location
Who reviews the suggestions? All submitted suggestions are reviewed by users who are already familiar with this feature. These are users of the Ingress project “Operation Portal Recon (OPR)”.
If the suggestions are rated highly, they can be turned into PokéStops or even Gyms. However, trainers can only submit a limited number of PokéStops per day.
Do you lose the daily suggestions if you don’t use them? You collect unused suggestions from a day for the future, so they do not expire.
In the settings, you can check how many suggestions you have left.
Keep in mind that you should not suggest just any random place as a stop. There are specific rules for stops that Niantic has laid out on the support website.
