It is official: Rambo comes to Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. The taciturn action hero is starting a second career in CoD and comes as an operator or skin into the game. MeinMMO shows you the date, trailer, and what else you can expect.
When does Rambo come? Next week Thursday, on May 20th. The official Twitter account of Call of Duty showed a date with a fitting trailer:
Whether the popular film character comes as its own operator or as a skin for an existing operator is still not known. The only thing certain is that starting next week you can start your quest for revenge in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War and have the license for vigilantism.
Rambo as “poster boy” for the Season Reloaded update?
Is there more coming on May 20th? There are no official announcements yet, but the date fits for the mid-season update:
- Start of Season 3 – April 22nd
- End of the Battle Pass – June 16th
- Rambo update – May 20th
This could mean that besides the crossover, other content from the Season 3 roadmap will come into the game.
There are still two weapons missing from the roadmap in the game – the submachine gun “AMP63” and the melee weapon “Baseball Bat”. For Warzone, there are even three weapons: the ballistic knife is currently only active in Cold War and has already been announced for the mid-season update.
For Cold War, new maps could also come into the game on May 20th. The classic “Standoff” is ready to go and for the large Fireteam modes, “Duga” is likely to be added. Duga is currently only available in the Zombie mode “Outbreak” . Additionally, the “Multi-Team Elimination” mode could come to Cold War. This is a mode similar to “Battle Royale” (via GameStar).
In the bottom right, there is also another exciting tile on the roadmap – “MIDSEASON EVENT”. However, it is still not known what it is about. It might be related to the action heroes that are supposed to come into the game. In addition to the Rambo hints, there was also a hint about John McClane from “Die Hard”.
Warzone talks about “biggest season yet” and refers to mid-season
According to statements from Amos Hodge, the Creative Director of Raven Software, Warzone players can look forward to the mid-season update. Hodge revealed in an interview about the release of Season 3: “What we saw today was just the beginning. […] there is a lot of content in 3.5. This is our biggest season yet” (via videogameschronicle).
To become the biggest season yet, Season 3 would still have to deliver a lot. So far, the joint Season 1 with Black Ops Cold War was the biggest content drop. In December 2020 came:
- 31 new weapons
- The map “Rebirth Island”
- The “Rebirth Island” event
The map update of the large map Verdansk and the Adler event for the season start have set the bar. But to really become the biggest season yet, Season 3 would need to deliver more. So far, there are officially no concrete announcements – apart from the action stars that are coming as characters into the battle royale.
