After Netflix had great success in 2022 with “The Sandman”, another series in the same comic universe was announced. “Dead Boy Detectives” revolves around two ghost detectives who solve supernatural criminal cases together with a living person.
The Netflix adaptation of The Sandman premiered in August 2022 and turned out to be a hit for the platform.
The story is based on the comic series of the same name by Neil Gaiman and was published by DC Comics.
Now, fans of The Sandman can look forward to another series set in the same universe that features already known characters: Dead Boy Detectives. A first trailer has already been released and provides a glimpse into the crime comedy.

What is Dead Boy Detectives about? The story revolves around the two teenagers Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland. Both have already passed away, making them ghosts in the world of the living who refuse to move on.
They encounter the medium Crystal Palace: She can perceive the two ghosts and communicate with them while remaining hidden from normal people.
They decide to work together as a team and establish the detective agency “Dead Boy Detectives” to solve supernatural criminal cases.
Originally, HBO Max was intended for Dead Boy Detectives. However, the project was ultimately sold to Netflix because the format allegedly did not fit the programming plans of DC heads James Gunn and Peter Safran (via hollywoodreporter.com).

When does Dead Boys Detective premiere? So far, there is no exact release date. At the end of the trailer, it says “Coming Soon”.
