Now Sony has further news for everyone looking to buy a PS5: For economic reasons, prices for the PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition will be increased. And the price increases take effect immediately.

You now pay 50 euros more for the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition
What are the new prices for the PS5? Sony is increasing prices for the PS5 in Europe by 50 euros for each console. The new prices that you now have to pay in Germany are as follows:
- PlayStation 5 with disc drive: 549.99 euros
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition: 449.99 euros
What exactly has Sony explained? In a statement early this morning, Sony announced that it would increase prices for the PS5 consoles. The statement says:
The global economic landscape is a challenge that many are undoubtedly facing worldwide. We are experiencing high inflation rates and unfavorable currency trends globally, which are affecting consumers and putting many industries under pressure.

The price increase applies to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. In the USA, prices will not be adjusted for the time being. At the same time, Sony stated that it wants to significantly improve the supply issues with the PS5.
