The developer End Night Games Ltd. finally gives fans the long-awaited sled with Patch 5 for the survival hit Sons of the Forest on Steam. In the spirit of sustainability, trees now also grow back. You can find out what else the update brings here.
What is the sled for? The sled was already used in the predecessor The Forest to quickly move resources, especially large logs, to your destination without much effort. In the successor, the sled can also be crafted now with the introduction of Patch 5.
There are both a standard and an improved version available. Additionally, your companion Kelvin now also understands how to fill the sled with wood.

With Patch 5, Sons of the Forest makes the trees grow back
What else does the patch bring? In addition to many bug fixes and the mentioned means of transport, Patch 5 breathes new life into cut trees. They are now said to have a small chance of growing back while you sleep, contributing to more sustainability in the virtual landscape.
Additionally, the following features are included:
- Findable cooking pots and a new advanced cooking system.
- You can now add tarps to logs.
- 2 new found-footage clips were added.
- Location for stranded sailboats added.
- 79 new ponds and 34 new lakes were added to the map.
- You can now play the guitar.
- Timmy’s mutated arm was added to the fight with the demon.
- New portable clothing item was added.
- Additional Kelvin commands were added to reset traps, fill sleds with wood, and drying racks with fish.
Whether the tried-and-true sled will prevail against the zipline in the successor to Sons of the Forest remains to be seen.
