Our ghosts are our loyal companions in Destiny 2. However, one player claims that there are far better companions in the Destiny universe than ghosts: Arc Souls!
Player explains who is the coolest: In a post on the Destiny subreddit, user Nesayas1234 is currently trying to convince his Guardians that ghosts are not the best companions in the Destiny universe. In the humorous post, he lists reasons why players should rely not on their ghosts, but on something else entirely: Arc Souls!
These are Arc Souls: The Arc Soul is not a companion, but a skill of the Stormcaller Warlocks. If you use the subclass tree Elemental Attunement, your Warlock’s Rift creates an Arc Soul that hovers above you or allies and supports you in battle.
Here’s why the Soul is better: Nesayas1234 presents the advantages of ghosts and Arc Souls and compares them to each other. In his opinion, the Souls clearly have the upper hand:

- They can betray or abandon you
- They constantly make embarrassing jokes during missions
- They need to be defended while hacking a door that could just be walked around
- They are not Dinklebot
- They have no weapons
- And the worst of all: They work for their Guardian, not with them
Arc Souls on the other hand:
- Do not question their Guardians
- Are extremely loyal
- Do not speak and do not distract Guardians
- Would definitely have a really sweet voice if they could talk (so sweet that it would even make Dinklebot proud)
- Are helpful in combat
- The most important thing for an Arc Soul would be: To protect a friend

At the beginning of Destiny 1, the ghost was not voiced by Nolan North, but by the “Tyrion Lannister” actor Peter Dinklage. Even today, the ghost, nicknamed Dinklebot by the community after the actor, enjoys cult status.
Only on one point are the players divided: The Arc Soul may be cool, but our ghost can revive us. Other Guardians have already found an answer to this: Arc Souls kill everything, so Guardians do not need to be revived. Not dying is better than reviving.
