Currently, there is no release date for the new The Division: Heartland. However, it is already known that developer Ubisoft is allowing players to test on the servers. One of these players has leaked 40 minutes of gameplay. MeinMMO has watched the entire video and reveals details.
For a long time, The Division: Heartland has been quiet. The new shooter in the Division universe was supposed to be released by the end of 2021 / early 2022, but that apparently did not happen.
Currently, there is no fixed release date, but Ubisoft is already allowing selected players to test. From this test, 40 minutes of uncut gameplay have now been released (via vk.com).
MeinMMO has looked at the entire leak and lists the new information for you. Here you can find out how to have the chance to participate in the beta. We have embedded the first trailer here for you:
The Division: Heartland – Leak shows the first 40 minutes
What does the gameplay show? You can see the first 40 minutes of the game. The agent completes the tutorial and is taken to the operations base. Here, your boss explains how you earn progress in the game and what it is all about.
Heartland makes it clear in an info text in the game itself: “The Division: Heartland is not a loot shooter.” The focus is on the survival aspect, with “survival” in the foreground. Loot such as weapons, equipment, and materials are significantly rarer than in the “normal” Division games.
Some missions may be too difficult to tackle directly. You should rather retreat and start an extraction by helicopter instead of dying. Because upon death, you lose the contents of your “Go-Bag” – the material and equipment bag for your outings through “Silver Creek.”
Over time, you improve your operations base and equipment. This allows you to be out and about in Silver Creek for longer, take on more difficult missions, and be better equipped against the threats of the game world. In addition to enemies, Heartland lists three major threats to players:
- Contamination
- Some areas are contaminated, and if you stay in them too long without a filter mask, you will get sick and lose health points.
- Dehydration
- You need to drink regularly, otherwise you will slow down, and your movement will generally not be as smooth.
- Night
- When it gets dark, Silver Creek becomes significantly more dangerous. Rogue agents are more frequently encountered, and contaminated zones are larger and unpredictable.
SHD stations assist you in exploring Silver Creek. Here, you uncover specific areas and receive information about “Points of Interest” nearby. You can also cure yourself of diseases. Over time, you further upgrade the stations and secure advantages from the operations base even when on the go.
More gameplay details:
- New melee weapon with light and heavy strikes
- Items for self-revival
- Agents can “slide” to quickly change positions
How do missions run? You start your missions from a terminal within the operations base. If you are playing in a group, the agent with the least progress in the game is always the leader.
From the base, you are taken to the start of the mission and pursue your objectives. At any time, you can be attacked by hostile NPCs, but opposing players may also be lurking.
The mission designs are intended to encourage stealth, so you can reach better positions or bypass entire groups of enemies.
Overall, the focus of Heartland is more on fast action – compared to the MMORPG-like approaches of the main Division series.
Comparisons with well-known extraction shooters like Escape from Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown are obvious, but Division: Heartland guides you more, has a story, and does not take a hardcore approach where just one hit leads to a kill.
What does the story look like? Division agent Amber Mackenzie has been searching for her former commander Killian Tower since her activation. He has turned away from the Division and committed war crimes.
Mackenzie seeks revenge and an explanation for his decision to become a “rogue agent.”
The search has taken the agent across half of the USA to Silver Creek – a picturesque spot in the midst of the states. At least it was before the Dollar Flu. Now something is going on here. Even the Dollar Flu virus behaves differently.
The Division is here to unravel the mysteries and restore some peace to Silver Creek. But first, they need to clean up.

By the way, another Division game is in the works, and the release may not be long: The Division is coming to mobile and shows new gameplay
