Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom is the latest installment in the Zelda series on the Switch. Normally, you need about 60 hours if you want to complete the game at a normal pace (via howlongtobeat.com).
But now a player showed on Reddit that there is a particularly clever way to not only finish the game quickly but also not touch the ground.
Little fairies take him from island to island
How did the user proceed? He explained that he went about it as follows:
- First, he traveled from sky island to sky island and completed all the shrines. These shrines gave him enough health to obtain the Master Sword.
- To reduce fall damage, he used the little fairies that revive Link when he loses all health. This allowed him to fly from sky island to the next one.
- To get from one island to another, he used the Zonai glider. To recharge it sufficiently, he needed rough amounts of ‘Zonai charges’, which however drop from numerous enemies.
- After that, he could head to the temples in the sky and pave his way to the final boss.
He did not disclose how long he took in total for the game. But a screenshot of him on Reddit shows that he indeed never touched the surface. Many users from the community are impressed by this.
The new Zelda game offers you a lot of freedom
Why does this even work? Tears of the Kingdom has a very open structure. After the intro, the game does not tell you what to do, and you can explore completely freely. TotK thus offers you all the pros and cons of an open-world game.
You can finish the game after just a few hours, saving you all side quests, dungeons, or helpful advantages. However, you miss details that the developers have hidden for you in the game world.
