The Division has recently released its plans for December and the Christmas season. Until January, players can look forward to events, a new Shield, and other activities.
In recent months, it has been quiet in The Division. There has been one Global Event per month, accompanied by a Shield and smaller events. For the Christmas season, players can look forward to a little more than usual.
The plan for December highlights a new Shield. Additionally, two Global Events will take place. These are the plans for December in The Division.

New Shield “Prime” Starts
As every month, there is also a new Shield for December with Prime.
What are Shields? These are in-game challenges that you can complete. By completing them, you can unlock rewards for The Division 1 and 2. There are a total of 12 Shields. The more you complete, the greater the rewards for The Division 2.
This is what you need to do to complete the Prime Shield: You must own three complete classified sets. If you fulfill this already now, the Shield will be automatically completed with your first log-in.

What are classified sets? Classified sets are stronger versions of the regular sets. You can recognize them by the white folder on the gear image, right next to the gear set symbol. They are among the rarest loot in The Division – this is how you can farm classified gear in 1.8.
A complete set consists of six pieces. So, you cannot just wear four classified and two regular pieces to complete the Shield.
When does the Shield start? From December 6th, the Shield will be active.
Two Global Events – Outbreak and Blackout in December
In December, the routine of starting one Global Event per month will be broken. This time, there will be two events.

You Need to Know About the Global Event Outbreak
When does the Outbreak event start? Outbreak ran in November but will now start again. The Global Event will be active from December 6th to 13th.
These are the modifiers for the Global Event Rush:
- Outbreak (Always active): In addition to your damage, you inflict “Burning,” “Bleeding Wound,” and “Disoriented” effects, which you can change by reloading.
- Wild Outbreak (In addition to Rush): Certain effect types deal more damage to your enemies, while they are resistant to others. Resistant enemies deal more damage.
- Brutal Outbreak (In addition to Rush and Wild Rush): If your teammates kill an enemy within 2 seconds, you receive a damage bonus on your next reload, marked by a skull.
What does the Global Event bring? With special event credits, you can buy classified containers for specific sets. During the Rush event, there will be containers for
- the FireCrest set,
- Restorer set,
- Lone Hero set,
- and the Predator set

You Need to Know About the Global Event Blackout
When does the Global Event Blackout start? Blackout starts immediately after Rush and runs from December 13th to 20th.
These are the modifiers for the Global Event Blackout:
- Blackout (Always active): Gives you shock ammunition and a loading bar over your health display, which fills up by shooting or running. You deal more damage the higher the charge.
- Extreme Blackout (In addition to Blackout): the next level allows you to unleash an overload in close combat by filling the bar, knocking out your opponents in one blow. This is visually impressive, showcased by a shockwave.
- Total Blackout (In addition to Blackout and Extreme Blackout): Accelerates your loading bar when you are near group members.

New Containers for Outfits, the Christmas Costume Returns
Last year, there are again special containers themed around Christmas. The Advent containers are returning and so is the Christmas costume.
What can you pull from the Advent containers? In addition to pieces for the Santa outfit, you can get various cosmetic items and gestures, all themed around Christmas.
From December 6th, there will also be new containers in The Division. These will be called “Encrypted Collection.”

What can you get from these containers? In recent months, The Division has received several generations of outfits. There are a total of four generations of containers with 19 different outfits. The Encrypted Collection now compiles these 19 outfits. You cannot get other items from the containers.
So if you are still missing outfit pieces, this is your opportunity. In return, the containers Mark 1-4 will be removed from the inventory starting January 10th.
The Division is gifting you: From December 6th to January 10th, you can grab a mask for free. You just need to log in during this period.
