In an MMORPG, you create a character in which you invest a lot of time and that becomes a kind of alter ego. Giving this up or accepting changes is difficult for many of you.
Already at character creation many invest a significant amount of time to shape the hero exactly as they envision it. After all, many in the game are not just about experiencing the story and improving the character. Role-playing is also an important aspect.

The worlds of MMORPGs are usually vast and offer many secrets or interesting stories. Through exploration, it is possible to learn more about the world and immerse oneself in the lore. When a group discovers a ruin, they want to not only explore it but also find out what history it had.
A world must be coherent and invite exploration of every corner. Just wandering through the large game areas can lead to adventures, regardless of whether one has to complete a quest there or not.
