The lead designer of Warframe made a joke that poked fun at the new MMO shooter Anthem.
What happened? In the latest devstream of the developers, the topic was Warframe’s roadmap for 2019. The lead designer, Steve Sinclair, casually began sketching the upcoming months for Warframe on a whiteboard, letting his inner troll shine!
The first point on such an agenda is always the most important. Sinclair wrote first: “2019 – Warframes –> Javelins”. He announced that Warframes would be renamed to Javelins.

- Warframe has existed for more than five years and is an MMO shooter where you play with combat suits called Warframes. The devstream also revealed the two new Warframes Hildryn and Wisp.
- Anthem is an upcoming MMO shooter that has a release in February 2019. Here, too, you will play with combat suits called Javelins. These are the classes of Anthem.
Little joke with a jab: When the other developers realized what prank Sinclair was up to, they were a bit embarrassed.
However, no one could hold back their laughter, and the action was met with a “Shots fired!” This exclamation is used in English when someone makes a biting comment.

Warframe vs Anthem
Why players compare Warframe and Anthem: Anthem has a futuristic setting, a co-op focus, and is played in third-person, just like Warframe. The Interceptor Javelin is often referred to as a Warframe due to its speed. Warframe also plays very quickly and agilely through its parkour system.
