What exactly have the developers done? An ARG (Alternate Reality Game) is currently running in Warframe for the upcoming Fortuna launch. On the Discord server “Solaris United,” an unknown agent named “The Business” regularly posts secret messages and special missions. The messages must be decrypted.
Thousands of players are eagerly at work, utilizing image analysis and spectrographs on sound files. This brings all sorts of information to light.
Fighting Against the Corporation
What does all this have to do with the game? The background of this online scavenger hunt is the story of Fortuna. It revolves around a defiant enclave of workers who no longer want to be enslaved by the greedy Corpus corporation.
In Warframe, Corpus embodies predatory capitalism, which is against any form of labor rights.
This leads to resistance, and The Business’s efforts are one of the measures meant to disrupt Corpus’s operations.
What does all this bring? Once information has been decrypted, The Business posts special codes in the Discord channel that grant additional resources. Furthermore, there is a wealth of additional lore as background for the Fortuna addon. This further intensifies the excitement and hype leading up to the launch of Fortuna in early November.
