The BlizzConline 2021 will take place later in February. However, you can already acquire the official mount for World of Warcraft, the ice bear Stormsnow. Although you don’t need a ticket, the mount is not entirely free.
What kind of mount is this? Stormsnow is an ice bear that somewhat resembles the first mount ever featured at BlizzCon – just without the Murloc on its head. Instead, it has pockets full of snow and icy spikes in its fur.
The mount is currently available for BlizzConline 2021 as a mount for Blizzard’s 30th anniversary. Many WoW players are already excited about Stormsnow and are chatting about the mount on reddit and in the forums. Even the price bothers very few.
How do I get it? Stormsnow is part of Blizzard’s anniversary collection that you can purchase this year. It is somewhat of a substitute for the BlizzCon ticket that existed in previous years, which gifted you with digital goodies. The collection comes in three tiers:
- Essentials for €19.99
- Heroic for €39.99
- Epic for €59.99
To get Stormsnow, you need to purchase at least the Heroic edition; the Essentials do not include the mount. In our article, you can find out what you get in the anniversary collections. After purchase, you will find Stormsnow in your collection. The mount is only valid for the Retail version of WoW; Classic players will not receive it.
Since BlizzCon 2021 is completely digital and free, there is no ticket available this year, which would have otherwise cost €39.99. Everyone can watch from home, and if they wish, they can purchase the goodies additionally.
BlizzCon without a ticket, Stormsnow mount in the collection
This is what makes the mount so special: Stormsnow not only looks pretty cool but also brings at least three special features. Firstly, it has a unique summon animation. When you summon the mount, a snowstorm forms around you from which the ice bear appears.
Secondly, small snow piles occasionally fall out of the pockets on its sides. Other players or you can pick them up and receive a snowball that you can then throw.
Additionally, it has a special /mountspecial animation where it observes a small frostball that then bursts on its nose.
When is BlizzCon? This year’s BlizzConline 2021 will take place on February 19 and 20 (Friday and Saturday). You can watch via various streams representing the different stages that are usually seen at BlizzCon.
