What is the deal with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? After this year already saw the playable “Great Old One” Cthulhu in the MOBA SMITE, the familiar cartoon characters Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello will be appearing shortly.
The Turtles are coming!
Are they new heroes? They are premium skins that you can unlock in November. With these skins, you will be able to transform the gods Osiris, Loki, Mercury, and Sun Wukong into the Ninja Turtles.
You can alternatively purchase the Battle Pass and directly enjoy the turtle fighters.
Also included are the mentor Splinter Hachiman and the villain Shredder Ravana.
Who are the Ninja Turtles? Younger players may not know the four turtles anymore. They were especially famous in the 1990s, primarily through cartoons, comics, and also movies.
Basically, they are four turtles that grew and became intelligent through a mysterious slime called Ooze. A rat named Splinter, also altered by the Ooze, took them under his wing and trained them in martial arts.
Thus, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello took on the evil Shredder while devouring plenty of pizza.
Fun fact: In Germany, the name of the turtle gang was changed to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles because the term “Ninja” was associated with something “evil.”
What is SMITE? The MOBA, which you can also play on the Nintendo Switch, offers a peculiarity in the genre. Because here you do not play from a top-down perspective, using this view to keep an eye on your surroundings. Instead, you control your heroes from a third-person perspective over the maps. This makes SMITE very action-oriented and presents more of a mix between a third-person shooter and a MOBA.
However, you still have to eliminate the opponents on the maps and tactically use the powers of your characters while working as a team.
