Smite receives a new update on Tuesday – numerous skins, a new game mode, and a centaur as a god are waiting!
Clash – The Best of Two Worlds
The new game mode “Clash” is supposed to be the transition between the MOBA mode “Conquest” and the much faster “Arena”. The game is played on a typical map with towers and phoenixes, but there are only 2 lanes and an open area in the middle where players will compete for a damage buff. After the map was tested on the test realms, the creators now want feedback from the entire community. However, it should be noted that the map is still in “Beta” state and therefore minor bugs may occur.
Chiron – A Centaur with a Love for Plants
The new hunter Chiron is an interesting combination of a hunter and a passive supporter. Let’s take a look at the four-legged marksman.
- His passive ability Herbal Medicine creates a plant every 12 seconds that increases all healing received by Chiron by 10%. If he uses an ability, the most injured ally is healed by a small amount, consuming plants. Maximum 3 stacks.
- Training Exercise removes restrictive effects in the target area from all allies and then causes an explosion in the same area for low damage.
- The Masterful Shot can be triggered at the push of a button and hits all targets within relatively high range that Chiron has damaged in the last seconds. The targets are slowed for 3 seconds.
- With Giddyup! Chiron charges forward, knocking aside minions and enemy gods behind him. While charging, he can still fire automatic attacks.
- The ultimate Centaurus activates Chiron’s constellation. In this mode, he can shoot three powerful shots that fly in a straight line through walls. If Chiron dies during his ultimate, he remains alive until the ability expires or he has used all shots. If an enemy god dies from one of the shots, Chiron survives and is healed for the amount of damage he inflicted.
New Skins – DJ Janus and the Kid Crew
Each major patch also comes with new skins, and this time there are plenty of them.
A standout is definitely the new skin for Janus, who cranks up the bass and knocks everyone out with his dubstep sounds. Khepri receives his mastery skins and can now crawl across the battlefield in golden and diamond splendor, enthusiastically shouting “Get off of them!”.
Ravanna receives two boxer skins as part of the current Odyssey, and Bellona dons a mohawk. Ah Puch and Scylla can each look forward to a “cute” skin available for purchase as part of the “Child’s Play” campaign. Who wouldn’t want to play with the Nutcromancer and his charming zombie fairies?
Minor Changes to Surrendering
Lastly, there is a small change to the mechanic of how surrendering works when a player has left the game. If a teammate disappears in the first 30 seconds of a game and does not reappear until the 5-minute mark, the team can surrender early. Previously, players had to wait 10 minutes, even though everyone knew that they couldn’t win with one player less.
