My.com, publisher of the online games Skyforge, Revelation Online, and Armored Warfare announced that the upcoming indie MMORPG Ashes of Creation will be distributed in Europe.
My.com takes on publishing for Ashes of Creation
Finally a publisher. The Intrepid Studios have been completely self-sufficient with their MMORPG Ashes of Creation. Not an easy task for a small indie studio. But now they receive support from an experienced publisher who will handle the marketing of the online role-playing game in Europe.
My.com explains in the press release that together with the Intrepid Studios, they are now setting the course to make “the dream” of Ashes of Creation come true and to revolutionize the genre.
What the responsible parties say.“I am elated that together with our partners Mail.RU and My.com, we will help Ashes of Creation achieve international success,” said Steven Sharif, founder and Creative Director of Intrepid Studios. “Our partners believe just like we do in the great goals we pursue with Ashes of Creation. This partnership allows us to develop the greatest MMORPG one can imagine.”
“We are honored to accompany Intrepid Studios on their adventure to bring to life a truly revolutionary MMORPG with Ashes of Creation. We are excited about the direction the game is taking; that their vision resonates with gamers worldwide does not surprise us,” said Volker Boenigk, Head of Product at My.com. “We are exceedingly pleased to be able to collaborate with the studio to publish Ashes of Creation in Europe.”
Players shape the world. Ashes of Creation aims to give players more control over the game world and ensure that the real effects of all actions are visible. Your task is to rebuild a lost world together and uncover its secrets.
In doing so, you must not only fight for survival but also ensure that the world develops according to a Node System that you need to advance your goals.
A release date for Ashes of Creation has not yet been announced. The MMORPG is currently on the verge of beginning its first alpha phase.
Update: Fans have reacted critically to the decision for My.com. This has led to a new statement from the head of Ashes of Creation:
