Skyforge is actually an action MMORPG. However, in an upcoming new game mode, it will become a battle royale RPG. You won’t even need to have played the base game.
Skyforge will be Battle Royale. Battle Royale is the big trend of 2018, and more and more games are hopping on the bandwagon. So does Skyforge. The futuristic action MMORPG is usually known for a lot of grind and god-like characters.
With the new battle royale update at the end of August, you will also be able to engage in wild survival battles. However, not with your familiar heroes.
Battle Royale with 12 Classes
This is how you activate Battle Royale: The “Battle Royale” mode will start immediately from the start screen. You won’t need any progress in the original Skyforge to duke it out.
Instead of your old hero from Skyforge, you will play as one of 12 classes in Battle Royale. However, they are designed with abilities similar to the heroes from the base game.
There are melee fighters, archers, gunners, technicians, and gunslingers. Each class has different weapons and skills, including traps, invisibility, and shields.
Monsters are also involved
PvE meets PvP: Besides your opponents, additional AI monsters roam the map. You can take them down to earn more loot. However, those who are not careful will be eliminated by sneaky players while grinding.
Gameplay as a mix of MMORPG and action spectacle
How does the Battle Royale of Skyforge play? According to a press release, the developers want to largely maintain the look & feel of the MMORPG template. But at the same time, the game is intended to be more dynamic and action-packed. Therefore, less auto-aim will be used, and more focus will be on targeted actions.
That sounds interesting, when can I play it? Skyforge: Battle Royale is coming to the servers on August 28, 2018, for PC. The PlayStation 4 follows on the 29th, and the Xbox will follow one day later on August 30.
What will it cost? Nothing, Skyforge: Battle Royale will be free to play.
