Skyforge is getting a Battle Royale mode. It is now confirmed that it is a standalone game mode, for which you don’t need a hero in the main game.
If you want to play the Battle Royale mode of Skyforge, simply enter the new lobby in the game. There is no need to have a hero in the main game. When you start a match, you must choose one of 12 characters. They have predefined skills and equipment.
You cannot switch classes. However, the heroes have special properties, such as:
- Dolph does not need ammunition
- Ivy places mines around a chest that explode when others try to open it
- Kerr’s health and damage increase with each defeated enemy
- Selena receives a massive bonus to her stats when the safe area shrinks
- Alecto can move undetected and deals extra damage with the first shot
Day-Night Cycle with Tactical Possibilities: Battle Royale in Skyforge basically works like you know it from shooters like Fortnite or PUBG. However, there is a day-night cycle. When it gets dark, tactics change as you can plan ambushes. You also need to wisely utilize the heroes’ abilities. Additionally, you will encounter monsters.
New Weapons and Gadgets: To ensure a fast gameplay flow, the combat system of Skyforge has been slightly adjusted. This especially applies to the movements of firearms and characters. Everything is designed for quick firefights, which is why a lot of new weapons and items are being added to the game. These include:
- Psi grenades
- Mines
- An invisibility generator
- A cloaking module
- A wormhole generator
Armor is hard to find, and you need to search for boosters to move quickly, as there are no vehicles. The items you find have unlimited charges, but they have varying cooldowns. Therefore, you must use them tactically.
Release Coming Soon: The Battle Royale mode will be introduced to the PC version of Skyforge on August 28. The PS4 version will follow on August 29, and the Xbox One version on August 30.
