Skull & Bones, the recently announced pirate game from Ubisoft, is set to be not just a multiplayer spectacle. The already announced solo campaign is more than just a supplement; it is a fully integrated story in the game.
So far, Skull & Bones, the pirate MMO announced at E3, has presented itself as a pure multiplayer PvP game like World of Warships. A coop mode and a solo campaign have also been announced, but little has been known about their scope and structure until now.
But the colleagues from PCGamer have followed up with Ubisoft and uncovered more details about the solo mode.
Skull & Bones: Solo Mode – A Narrative Story Campaign
According to Ubisoft, the solo campaign is supposed to be much more than just a little story supplement. Rather, it is a fully integrated narrative campaign, during the course of which you will meet other pirates as a pirate captain and you will encounter these friends and foes repeatedly in the game. Among them will be famous pirates with high recognition value.
Overall, the material shown so far for Skull & Bones has only been the “tip of the iceberg.” The gameplay shown at E3 was merely a game mode called “Loot Hunt.” But there is so much more that you can do in Skull & Bones.
Jürgen says: The concept of the solo campaign sounds good, as the cool pirate setting offers so much more than just PvP like World of Warships. But as always, such pure PR statements should be viewed with caution. Therefore, I remain skeptical as long as I do not know more.
What do you think? Do you believe that Skull & Bones will have a fully-fledged solo campaign, or is it ultimately just pretty decoration? Let us know in the comments!
