Life By You (PC) is a new life simulation that aims to compete with the dominant The Sims 4. It will be released in 2023 on Steam.
The game is being developed by the Swedish studio Paradox Interactive, known for Cities: Skylines, Europa Universalis, and Crusader Kings. With Life By You, they aim to take a completely different direction.
Competition for the genre giant “The Sims”?
When thinking of life simulations, the first thing that comes to mind is usually the Sims series. Paradox Interactive intends to change that with their new title and compete with EA.
The developer team includes a man named Rod Humble. He worked for EA and was heavily involved in the development of The Sims 2 and 3.

Like The Sims, but with real dialogues instead of fantasy language
What kind of game is this? In Life By You, you have everything in your hands. You create one or more characters, build them a house, and live your life – let your characters interact, learn skills, find a job, get married and have children. This is how the popular Sims games work.
In Life By You, however, you should be able to change people and the environment more than in “The Sims.” You should be able to destroy and change everything. With mod support for the game, you will have even more freedom, as players can add their own designs and add-ons.
Additionally, Life By You offers a completely open world without loading screens, as was the case in The Sims 3, but not in The Sims 4.
Another difference from the Sims series: The characters speak a real language, providing players with understandable stories. In The Sims, however, people speak the fantasy language Simlish and say things like “Sul Sul” or “Neeshga.”
This way, you step into the roles of your characters and can let them play out real stories.
