The streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek returns exclusively to Twitch. After almost a year in Mixer exile, Shroud is back and comments on his return with “I am coming home.”
This was the development of Shroud:
- Shroud was last seen on Twitch on October 22, 2019. He played mainly WoW and CounterStrike in front of an average of 24,000 viewers.
- On October 24, he announced his switch to Mixer – he was then the second major streamer after Ninja to leave Twitch.
- Now he announces his return to Twitch. With the words “I am coming home,” he spoke out on Twitter.
Shroud is now exclusively on Twitch – The platform is happy
What does Shroud say about the return? In a statement, Shroud explains his return in more detail. He says: “Twitch is the place where I turned my passion for streaming into a successful career – and I owe all of this to my incredible and loyal fanbase.”
However, he also shows insight and states: “As I looked for opportunities, I realized that there was no better place than Twitch to connect with the best and most loyal gaming community in the world. I also look forward to launching my channel with a new look and a new logo that I know my fans will love. I am back, baby!”

How does Twitch react to this? The heads of the streaming platform are excited about the comeback. Senior Vice President of Content, Michael Aragon, even confirms that Shroud will be streaming exclusively for Twitch.
“Our mission is to bring people together every day, and we look forward to seeing the FPS legend back in action, exclusively on Twitch.”

With this, Twitch has one of its most well-known content creators back. Before his departure, Shroud was one of the biggest streamers on the platform. He often ranked among the top 10 most viewed streamers on Twitch.
How is the return being received? On Twitter, there are numerous joyful tweets about Shroud’s return. His clip currently (as of August 12 at 4:45 PM) has over 222,000 likes.
One of the congratulators is also Jessica Blevins. She is the wife of streamer colleague Ninja, who has not yet committed to a platform.
Why was Shroud free again? Actually, Shroud had signed a contract with Mixer and was supposed to stream exclusively for Microsoft’s platform. But Mixer closed its doors and had to dissolve the contracts of major streamers.
In June, there were rumors that Facebook had negotiated exclusive contracts with Ninja and Shroud, but both had declined. Thus, they are now “Free Agents” and can negotiate with any streaming platform.
When does Shroud return? On Twitter, Shroud mentioned that his return would be today’s date at 8:00 PM German time. So keep an eye on his Twitch channel this evening, on August 12.
