The streamer Shroud is currently busy playing the new battle royale shooter Apex Legends. However, he made a silly mistake during a stream.
What happened? The game Apex Legends was released on February 4 and is currently being heavily celebrated by fans. Many streamers are now playing the battle royale shooter. Among them is former Counter-Strike pro Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, who is known for his high skill in shooters. In front of many thousands of fans, he is now showcasing his talent in Apex Legends.
On February 5, he streamed Apex Legends, which contains many cosmetic customizations. Shroud wanted to change the appearance of his character and weapons, and thus decided to buy Apex Coins. He intended to invest them in Apex Packs to unlock weapon skins and other cosmetics.
That was Shroud’s mistake: Shroud then spent $400 to buy the Apex Coins. However, he forgot to check which account he was purchasing the Apex Coins for. Unfortunately, he did not use the account he wanted to level up and spent the money on the wrong account.Shroud reacts calmly: While any normal player who invests such a large sum of money into a game would be completely upset, Shroud even finds it amusing. When he realizes the mistake, he says “Yep, that’s the wrong account” and laughs for a moment and then says: “Fuck, man. Fucking Hell”. Even though it annoyed him, he could laugh about having just wasted $400.
Why does he remain so unfazed by the loss? Shroud has a large fanbase and is extremely successful on Twitch. Thousands of subscribers secure his income, along with deals with sponsors. It seems that Shroud is just “rich enough” to laugh off the mistake.
In one of his streams (via Twitch.TV), he said, “Sure, I lost millions because I don’t play [PUBG] Mobile and Fortnite. But how many millions do you actually need?
I think it’s fine. I have an excellent income. I believe you have to be happy with what you do. It has never been about the money for me.”
So perhaps it doesn’t matter that much when you pump $400 into the wrong account.
