The Twitch streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek was the active streamer with the most followers on Twitch for four weeks after Ninja moved. That’s not the case anymore – Fortnite professional Tfue has replaced him as number 1. But the shooter pro seems to be indifferent, he is now playing WoW Classic.
Who is number 1 on Twitch? It is a bizarre situation. Because Tyler “Ninja” Blevins had a massive lead over the second place before his move to Mixer. But Ninja’s channel is no longer active on Twitch.

As a result, Michael “shroud” Grzesiek became the new number 1. Shroud was previously a CS:GO pro and is known for his exceptional shooter skills : Twitch clips showing shroud taking out multiple opponents with precision are often circulating online.
Shroud especially benefited from the huge hype around Apex Legends in February 2019 – but he broke his arm in a scooter accident, the hype around Apex Legends faded, and also his channel did not grow as significantly as it did in February.
However, since shroud has been active for so long and has gathered followers over the years, he was still number 1 on Twitch during the first weeks of August with 6.9 million followers.
But the new number 1 on Twitch is now Turner “Tfue” Tenney, who continues to play almost exclusively the popular Fortnite.
Tfue was able to outrun Shroud a few days ago. This had been building for some time: Tfue’s growth was significantly higher than shroud’s, who has had difficulties finding an interesting game in recent months.

Shooter pro becomes an Orc, already played 58 hours
What is shroud doing right now? To the surprise of many, shroud is currently only playing WoW Classic. The Canadian, known for his shooter skills, is currently leveling an Orc Shaman.
He says he plays WoW Classic, although he expects not to receive as many followers, subscriptions, and donations as usual. But that’s not so important to him at the moment.
He simply plays WoW Classic for himself.

In a first stream immediately after the release, shroud was online for 25 hours. Otherwise, he has hardly taken any breaks since the release of WoW Classic: he has played WoW Classic for 58.3 hours in the days since release – other Twitch streamers even sleep while streaming WoW Classic.
Interest in Shroud’s streams is not as high as it was during the peak times of Apex Legends, but an average of around 20,000 to 30,000 people still watch his streams at the same time.
