Vampires are boring? Apparently not, considering how quickly the funding for the MMORPG Shadow’s Kiss was successfully achieved on Kickstarter.
Just a few hours after the crowdfunding campaign for the vampire MMO started, the desired funding amount of $25,000 was reached. Many players apparently wish for an online game in this dark scenario and are still saddened by CCP Games’ cancellation of World of Darkness.
Find your place as a vampire
Shadow’s Kiss puts you in the city San Cipriano. Supernatural beings such as vampires and werewolves inhabit it. You belong to the bloodsuckers and must try to find your place in this city and survive. To do this, it is necessary to work your way up through the ranks of vampire society. You do this by completing quests, which do not always have to be resolved with violence. Conversations and diplomacy are to be just as important as fights.
Over time, you will become more powerful and can then bring certain parts of the city under your control. However, this leads to making enemies among the other players, as they might also want to control this part of San Cipriano. It’s entirely up to you how you progress. Do you join forces with other players? Do you try to bring NPCs under your control and use them as servants, or do you want to try it as a lone wolf?
Vampires with superpowers
You have many supernatural powers available to you, which you can also improve. These include quick reflexes, which benefit you in tactical battles. In those, it is also possible to perform combo attacks that cause particularly high damage.
The Kickstarter campaign for Shadow’s Kiss runs until December 5, in case you want to participate. The MMORPG is expected to be released by the end of 2018.
