Setting Rust to German – Here’s how

By default, Rust is set to English. However, according to Steam, Rust has been translated into over 25 languages. We explain how you can play Rust in German in our guide.

Here’s how to change Rust to German: To change the language, you need to start Rust. In the main menu, you will see your Steam profile picture in the top right, below it are two more icons. Click on the last icon and select your desired language from the subsequent dialog window. By left-clicking on the corresponding country flag, the language will be changed automatically.

Step-by-step guide to set Rust to German:

1. Start Rust
2. In the main menu, click the button with an “A” and a Chinese symbol in the top right
3. In the newly opened window, click the German flag to change the language
4. Play Rust in German

What you should consider when translating Rust: Except for the English language, all other languages in Rust were translated by the community. Therefore, some items or designations in the game may be incorrect.

Pirates in Rust? A special Easter egg is the community’s translation of Rust into pirate language. “Play Game” becomes “Set Sail” and “Quit” becomes “Abandon Ship”.
