The Twitch streamer Rumathra has founded a German server for the survival MMO Rust . The server is a success: Streamers like Trymacs, Papaplatte, or Dhalucard are achieving strong numbers. Even MontanaBlack wanted to drop by. But for now, there’s a break. The founder of the server is very disappointed about what happened there and is taking the Twitch event offline for now.
How successful is the event on Twitch? The Twitch streamer Rumathra has founded a server for Rust. It has been running every evening from Saturday from 5 PM to 1 AM. The event has quickly made Rust the biggest game on German Twitch:
- In December 2020, Rust was ranked 81st on German Twitch with an average of 114 viewers
- In the last 3 days, Rust was ranked 1st on German Twitch with an average of 35,620 viewers
Among the most successful German streamers in Rust are:
- Trymacs – 35,030 viewers
- Papaplatte – 27,407 viewers
- Dhalucard – 10,735 viewers
- PietSmiet – 6,035 viewers
- Amar – 5,550 viewers
With such high viewer numbers, one can assume that the event is commercially a complete success. This can also be seen from the fact that now even the biggest German Twitch streamer MontanaBlack has announced that he wants to be part of Rust now. Although not everyone liked that.
Server is “out of control”
Therefore, the server is going offline now: Earlier today the founder of the server, Rumathra, announced that he is not satisfied with the situation at all.
Rumathra says: He is very disappointed with how people behave on the server. He thought he could invite as many streamers as possible and it would then be cool.
But on the server, people are getting hurt because others do not behave cool at all. The server is out of control. He did not want that.
Furthermore, Rumathra now has Corona.
He is now calling on his community to send clips of people who behaved “meme-like or trivializing”; he wants to kick them off the server. The community should snitch.
Rumathra refers to the incident with the streamer Tinkerleo, to whom another streamer had said, “she can sit on his face.”
This led to a heated discussion. As a result, some streamers withdrew from the “Rust server” project to set an example against sexual harassment.
Server operators want to establish more rules, involving women
Besides the trivialization of sexual harassment, Rumathra apparently is bothered by “content fishing”: This refers to smaller streamers hunting and killing the big streamers on the server like Trymacs or Rewinside, so they can generate interesting content for their viewers.
Rumathra has announced that he will keep the Rust server offline today and seek help with the organization. He seems to be bothered that streamers are having a bad time on the server and that it falls back on him.
Apparently, in Germany, one cannot do without a larger set of rules. The streamer Rewinside also says: Everything has to be organized and new rules coordinated.
They apparently want to involve women equally in the decision-making process.
When will the Rust server return?
Update 14.1., 12:01 PM: Rumathra has now announced that the German Rust server is expected to return on Friday, January 15, or Saturday, January 16.

Meanwhile, the conflict surrounding Rust has further escalated. Some German influencers have been harassed by a troll network:
