YouTuber and Twitch streamer Ryan “Cryaotic” Terry has now been banned on Twitch. He has not appeared since June. The accusations come from a former lover, which he confirmed in an apology video: He allegedly engaged with underage fans.
This is Cryaotic: Cryaotic is a YouTube veteran who later transitioned to Twitch. His earliest videos on YouTube were from 2007, and he now has 2.6 million followers on the platform.
He rarely appears personally in his videos. He uses a stylized, distinctive character as his avatar in thumbnails.
He is mainly known for his Let’s Plays. He showcased and played role-playing games like Undertale, Vampire: The Masquerade, or Catherine. These are story-driven cult games that are somewhat off the mainstream and enjoy an exquisite reputation.
Cryaotic has a pleasant, deep voice, and part of the appeal of his Let’s Plays was that he read the dialogues of the RPGs with this voice.
From mid-2019, Cryaotic was hardly active on YouTube; he had switched to Twitch. On Twitch, he showcased “Animal Crossing.” On the streaming platform, he had 813,000 followers.
Ex-girlfriend raises allegations on Twitter
These are the allegations: On June 18, Twitter user Beanie published her experiences with a man she did not name:
- She reached out to him at 16 when he was 22, and they quickly became friends – This was in 2011
- She developed feelings for him, and he never discouraged her but rather kept her hanging
- Beanie then hinted that they had sexual interaction when she turned 18. She said, “That’s when things changed, and I was too much through rose-colored glasses to understand what was really happening”
- Later, as she graduated from school, he told her that he couldn’t reciprocate her feelings; he was interested in someone else. However, she was a good Plan B
- Shortly after, he told her again that he was seeing others – as she later found out, they were underage
- At 20, she realized how harmful the relationship was for her and ended it. The man then told her that he was only interested in sex with her
- She then told his then-girlfriend everything
- Years later, at 24, she reached out to him again, wanting an apology or closure. She wanted a “fix” for having been used as a personal therapist and toy for years.
- She was only interested in a platonic friendship – But he fell back into old patterns
By now, she knows that many young and easily influenced girls go through what she experienced. She does not want an apology, but rather a change in behavior. She will never get back “the pieces he took”.
“Cheated on girlfriend with those I didn’t know were underage”
This is how the YouTuber reacted: Until then, no one knew who it was about. On June 20, Cryaotic published a YouTube video in which he indirectly addressed these allegations.
This is a personal video in which he talks about how people wear masks and are no longer their true selves. He rejects his “former self.” He was insecure and only cared about protecting his own ego.
Then, out of nowhere, came the statement:
I was never able to interact naturally with people after cheating on my girlfriend with people I didn’t know were still underage.

At that statement, some of his fans, who had followed him for years, were shocked, as described by a YouTuber.
Later, Cryaotic explained in the video description: The video was created in a manic phase. He had never had physical contact with minors, only virtual. But that should not downplay his actions.
He wrote at the end that he would now “do whatever comes next.”
After that, he did not publish any more YouTube videos and was also no longer active on Twitch.
YouTubers express outrage over the confession
This is how the video was received: Cryaotic’s confession became a hot topic in June. Other alleged victims of Cryaotic spoke up, and his former partners distanced themselves from him (via twitter).
The allegations reflect a pattern. Teenage girls are infatuated with Cryaotic, and he enjoys it. He seems to seek virtual sexual contact.
But it is also stated by one: He immediately withdrew when he learned that she was still underage. He suffers from low self-esteem and is addicted to validation.
However, this is a different experience than those circulating.
Other YouTubers picked up the topic and expressed shock: He confessed to cheating on his girlfriend with “underage girls”:

Now Beanie’s tweets resurfaced after days, and it became clear that it was Cryaotic he was talking about.
However, Beanie emphasized that she did not want to publicly call him out and accuse him. She only posted that for herself and would never have accused him. He accused himself in the video, she did not do it.
Twitch reportedly permanently bans Cryaotic
This is now the end: Two and a half months after the incidents, Cryaotic was banned from Twitch, and his partner status was revoked. It seems to be a permanent ban.
Twitch appears to conduct thorough vetting of such allegations and takes its time: Even against its own employee, Hassan Bokhari, the investigations took two months.
Under the news of the ban, Cryaotic is being called “pedo” by Twitter users, claiming he “groomed multiple girls sexually.” It is now time for the ban, it is stated on Twitter.
The woman from whom the allegations came is expressly pleased with the ban. At the same time, her ex-boyfriend, who had also behaved wrongly towards her, is receiving a hefty dental bill.
So it’s a super day for her.
Allegations against streamers engaging with underage girls are causing public outrage and a wave of anger in the communities.
