CCP, the developer company behind the space MMO EVE Online, is exploring the market for a buyer.
As reported by Bloomberg, the Icelandic company CCP is exploring the market and soliciting offers from potential buyers. Bloomberg cites “people familiar with the matter” as the source. Apparently, buyers have approached CCP, and now they are dipping a toe in the water to gauge the market.
The source estimates that the sale price of CCP could be up to 900 million euros, Bloomberg further writes. CCP responded to an inquiry with “No comment.”
CCP was founded in 1997, developed the cult MMORPG EVE Online, and has been pushing into the virtual reality market in recent months with titles like Eve Valkyrie and Gunjack 2. This seems to have significantly increased the company’s attractiveness and value. That would hardly explain the sums that are now circulating. As Bloomberg knows, the value of CCP was still set at 300 million USD a year ago during an investor deal.
