Civilization meets The Sims in an MMORPG
What is SEED? SEED can be described as a mix of The Sims, Civilization, Facebook, and an MMORPG.
- You manage up to 10 characters
- You assign different activities to each character: One explores the area, another collects resources or builds a building
- Other players live with you on this foreign world. It is possible to join these into communities
- Each character has their own needs, which you must fulfill similarly to The Sims
- You collectively take care of the game’s economy by mining resources, crafting items, and selling them
- You try to build a functioning civilization
- There can also be fights between players
The new trailer offers a look at the online game. With the new gameplay trailer, you get a brief insight into the unusual gameplay. You see how the characters arrive on the planet and start to build a civilization. The relationships among one another are just as important as expanding and maintaining the civilization.
SpatialOS offers a massive world. The planet on which SEED takes place is huge. To manage this game world, the development team uses SpatialOS technology. This allows the world and the characters to connect with each other, so that both affect one another. This is intended to create a believable world that continues to evolve even when you are not logged in.
SEED currently has no release date yet. However, information regarding the upcoming testing phases is expected in the near future. The developers also received a financial boost for the MMO a few months ago to be able to implement their ambitious plans.
