The emerging MMORPG Seed has received another large financial boost. Investors are eager to invest in the new MMORPG from Berlin. The wonder technology SpatialOS also plays a role. Are we expecting the step into the MMORPG future with Seed?
Almost 14 million dollars in capital: The studio behind the upcoming MMORPG Seed, Klang Games, has relied on substantial support from investors. Apparently, this has paid off: Currently, the studio has capital of 13.95 million dollars available. This amounts to about 11.95 million euros.
The Berlin studio can achieve a lot
Klang Games is a studio founded by former developers from large and well-known companies. The founders previously worked on games like EVE Online and Dust 514, bringing significant experience with them. The studio was originally founded in Iceland, then moved to Berlin.
Investors also see the potential in Klang Games. Among other things, through a fund from “Makers Fund”, where large companies pool money for young companies, Klang Games secured 5 million dollars in the first round. Now, in the second round, an additional 8.95 million dollars will be added to the capital for Seed.
Seed – A feeling of embarking into the future: The CEO of Klang Games, Mundi Vondi, believes that Seed will play a significant role in the next generation of social simulations. The studio appreciates the trust and wants to approach the project correctly.
Seed is an MMORPG and a simulation where players must manage a colony. The game runs on the SpatialOS by Improbable. It continues in real-time even when players are offline. The cloud technology allows for significantly more power, creating a vast world that is meant to feel alive.
