In the loot shooter Outriders there is especially powerful equipment that you can farm. In addition to legendary weapons that are already available in the demo, legendary armor will also be added in the finished game. MeinMMO shows you which ones are known so far.
What are legendary armors? These are the rarest armor sets in Outriders that will be included in the finished game. Fans of loot shooters might recognize similar equipment from games like Destiny, Anthem, or The Division.
However, Outriders’ armor sets are more aligned with games like Diablo, as legendary armors are intended to influence certain playstyles more significantly.
Are there already legendary armors in the demo? No. Currently, it is only possible to collect legendary weapons in the demo. Armors will only be available with the full release on April 1. How many armors are there in the game? This is currently unknown. As soon as the final information about all legendary sets is known, we will of course present them to you in detail.
Developer People Can Fly has so far presented a small selection of sets via the official Twitter account and other gameplay cutscenes. MeinMMO shows them to you.
The Reforged – Pyromancer
This is the set bonus: Increases damage from the incendiary bomb and from consuming fire by +50 %. To activate the bonus, you must wear three pieces of the set.
What can the set do? The Reforged is primarily designed to heat up enemies with the powerful incendiary bomb.
The skill can immobilize enemies at longer distances through a fire effect and deals damage over time. If they die during this time, they explode and may take other enemies with them.
The Reforged in action:
In addition, the skill consuming fire is significantly strengthened. With it, you can regenerate your health while burning multiple enemies with fire damage. Additionally, bosses can be interrupted in their attacks.
You heat up groups of enemies with your incendiary bombs while healing yourself with consuming fire, interrupting enemies, and burning them at the same time. Thus, you can control the battlefield and deal massive damage.
Deathproof – Devastator
This is the set bonus: Reduces the cooldown of the Boulderdash skill by 90 %.
What can the set do? The mods of the armor are designed to rush through enemy hordes with the Boulderdash as often as possible.
With the set bonus, you become a steamroller, clearing everything in your path and weakening enemies that do not drop dead right away.
Deathproof in action:
Additionally, the skill rebounding bullets is significantly stronger. You can even reflect bullets while attacking.
Normally, you have to maintain the reflection shield until the skill expires. With the armor, you can simply fight in the meantime. You can therefore charge forward with the Boulderdash, reflect bullets and even gain weapon damage plus hit points thanks to your armor.
Chronosuit – Trickster
This is the set bonus: Reverting Time refills the magazine.
What can the set do? Thanks to the mod “Aggressive Teleportation”, the skill Borrowed Time causes an explosion that hits all enemies within an 8-meter radius.
Chronosuit in action:
When you activate the skill, you can create a sort of teleportation point. As soon as you activate the skill again, you teleport back to that point. With the mod, an explosion also occurs at the location from which you teleported away.
Additionally, there are powerful bonuses for tricky bullets, allowing you to deal even more damage with your weapons.
Torrential Downpour – Technomancer
This is the set bonus: Junk Shrapnel drops additional cluster bombs after the explosion.
What can the set do? With the set bonus, Junk Shrapnel, which are the Technomancer’s grenades, are massively enhanced. When one of these bombs explodes, additional cluster bombs are activated that deal even more damage. Additionally, through the armor mods, you can carry up to 6 of these Junk Shrapnels.
Torrential Downpour in action:
In addition to the enhanced Junk Shrapnels, the armor also provides massive bonuses to the Technomancer’s healing skill. He can remove status effects and enemies he revives have full health immediately. Additionally, the cooldown for the healing skill is reduced.
There are even more armors
Which other legendary armors are there? Most are still unknown. In the Subreddit for Outriders, the user ShouYou posted further screenshots:
Some players assume at least three sets per class that correspond to the respective three subclasses.
You can find more about this in our class overview: Everything we know so far about the 4 character classes of Outriders – Gameplay and Skills
Further screenshots of possible legendary sets for the Devastator can also be found on reddit. They come from the user Arthium Platov.
Unfortunately, no detailed information about these armor sets is known yet, so we don’t know which playstyle they support.
