With the zip lines, you can quickly traverse vertical paths in Call of Duty: Warzone, but until now you could only climb the ropes one by one. The Mid-Season 4 has changed that.
What’s it about? Are the developers of Call of Duty: Warzone falling back into old patterns? A major change was once again not found in the patch notes of Mid-Season 4.
For several months, the Warzone developers have become much more open and transparent about changes to the game. In the past, there were constantly secret adjustments that had to be discovered by dedicated players and content creators.
But this time it was probably just an oversight. Developer Raven Software has already confirmed the “secret” change and explains: Yes, you can now use the zip lines as a team and no longer have to wait until your teammate reaches the top.
Zip Lines are now capable of Multi-Tasking
What does that look like? On reddit, shortly after the major update of Mid-Season 4, the first videos of the change appeared:
You can see that all 3 players arrive at the top almost simultaneously. However, there is a slight delay – just like on ladders, you cannot ride the zip line at the same height. As soon as a player rides up a few meters, a second team member can already start their way.
Until now, you had to wait until the zip line was completely free to also go up. Now, you almost arrive at the top simultaneously and can put any campers directly under pressure – or go down together.
What do the players say about it? Looking at the comments in the reddit thread, the change is very well received. The comment with the most likes reads: “This is possibly the most important change from the patch. This could be a game changer, especially at the airport tower.” User “Ok-Bag3000” also received many upvotes for their comment “GGs Raven – I love it”.
The thread also sparked an interesting discussion about tactics at the airport tower and what happens when the end zone of a battle royale ends at the popular camper stronghold.
However, some players do not consider the new zip lines to be so “groundbreaking”. As “PrussianEagle1871” writes: “Now your whole squad can be massacred instead of just one guy.” Another makes a further improvement suggestion and wishes that they could attach C4 to the rope to give the campers above a bit of a heat.
Overall, the change is very well received. Although some point out that it took almost a year to implement this adjustment. The zip lines arrived with Season 5 when CoD MW was still the main game.
Even if there are no campers waiting above – thanks to the viable zip lines, you can proceed faster as a team, and the change makes complete sense. It was always very annoying to wait for a long time at the bottom until the zip line was free. With really long zip lines, you could stand around for several seconds, and the team was therefore unintentionally separated.
The next small but important change seems to be already in the pipeline: Dead Silence will get a counter and with a certain perk you can still hear your enemies.
