In Destiny 2, players have particularly missed the usual new Exo armors at the start of Season 19. So far, there have only been exotic weapons to discover, and this disappointed the Guardians. But now a leak has revealed that this might change after all.
The start of Season 19 was a bit stingy when it came to exotic armor pieces. So far, each season in Destiny 2 has also brought new exotic armor for three classes into the game. But not this time.
Instead of the usual armor Exotics for Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans, Guardians found not a single new Exo armor in the collection. For many, this was in addition to content and weapon recycling, another disappointment.
- It was speculated that Bungie may have simply forgotten them.
- After a few days, it was concluded that they might have been omitted due to time pressure because many weapon Exotics for Season 19 are being revamped.
- Shortly after, players fueled a new theory that Bungie may have exhausted its armor Exotic potential with 12 items in year 5, as 6 Exotics instead of just 3 were introduced at the start of Witch Queen and Season 16.
- Only a small part of the players hoped that Bungie might come around with this later.
Season 16/ Witch Queen Exotics:
- Titan “Loreley Splendor Helmet” – Exotic helmet and “Raureif-Z” – Exotic chest piece
- Warlock: “Secant Filaments” – Leg armor and “Osmiomancy Gloves” – Exotic gauntlets
- Hunter: “Bane Ranger” – Exotic helmet and “Renewal Grips” – Exotic gauntlets
Season 17:
- Hunter: “Caliban’s Hand” – Exotic gauntlets
- Warlock: “Fire Drop” – Exotic leg armor
- Titan: “Second Chance” – Exotic gauntlets
Season 18:
- Warlock: “Fallen Sunstar” – Exotic helmet
- Hunter “Hawk’s Armor” – Exotic chest armor
- Titan: “Point Contact Cannon Stand” – Exotic gauntlets
What has the new leak revealed to the Guardians? This last hope of the Guardians for Season 19 for a surprise was fueled by a leak when 3 exotic and unknown armors were found in the Destiny 2 database. They could be the long-missed Exotics for Season 19.
The YouTuber Redrix as well as Paul Tassi, a well-known Destiny 2 editor at Forbes, have unearthed these classified items. They are exotic but still unnamed and only numbered.
However, the icons clearly show the symbol for an exotic helmet, leg armor, and a gauntlet. These could very well be the missing armor Exotics of Season 19, especially since the classified symbols are as clear as Paul shows in his Twitter post:
Paul’s theory is that the armor Exotics, just like the exotic and craftable weapon “Revision Zero,” could be time-gated items that are meant to come into play later. Perhaps so that they do not disrupt the gameplay already at the start of the season.
The quest for the exotic pulse rifle “Revision Zero” starts, for example, on December 20, and it is, alongside the Osteo Striga, the second craftable Exotic in Destiny 2.
When could these armor Exotics come into play? The mere fact that they can be found in the Destiny API does not guarantee that they will come into play in Season 19. Bungie has not yet made any official announcement about this, so everything is just speculation.
Normally, such classified content in Destiny 2 does not become directly findable in the database several months ahead of time. This at least raises the chances that these are either armor Exotics or at least exotic armor ornaments that could drop before Lightfall, meaning in the coming weeks. Also, how one earns the additional armor Exotics is currently not known.
So far, the discovery has only sparked new discussions among the Guardians. Especially since the news of three additional Exotics would make the ongoing season a bit more appealing. Even if other ominous objects have currently appeared in the solar system.
